How to remove a sticker and glue residue from a motorcycle windshield without damage?

Do not want to spoil the finished acrylic or Plexiglas. Soap and water is only removed the paper, leaving the adhesive. Now, what to do?

I can vouch for WD40. I've used it in insects, sap pine, and recently had a plastic bag blow my hot exhaust pipes on my bike and merge into one. A shot of WD40 and a plastic spatula blade (scraper) took the chrome right and without scratches!
