Can an APH-6B flight helmet is used as a motorcycle helmet?
Actually, I was wondering if you can modify (without destroying its integrity protection) to look like a Star Wars Rebel pilot helmet?
It is possible, but not a good idea, and not just because you'd look a little silly. Look, you can use a football or bicycle helmet. But you do not wear a helmet for the trip, you get to the accident we hope will never happen. APH-6B or helmets, no helmets bicycle or football helmets are designed to operate in the same environment as motorcycle helmets. All are designed and tested to meet the different needs and different standards. APH-6B using a helmet on a motorcycle, it would be like trying to remove an Allen bolt with a screwdriver. Serious risk of life (or life-ending) brain injury for the opportunity to be fashionable for some of your friends when you walk down the street. The risk of brain injury may be low in any given path, but boy, when they occur are life-changing because people with brain injuries are not as attractive to chicks. Or employers. Or the people who used to be his friends and thought that his helmet was great before it crashed. buy a good helmet DOT certificate. No need to spend extra dollars in Snell-certified helmets. They cost more and perform worse Laboratory test (see link below). If you buy a helmet, tighten the inside of the chin region to make sure it has the same type hard foam that can be felt at the top of the helmet and thicker the better.
