Let's face it, being a woman is stressful. Most of us have to hold the race, raising a family, keep the house clean and dinner on the table at 6 pm. Our physical health and fitness can be greatly affected by excessive stress. Since women also have to deal with changes hormone once a month and when we are pregnant our hormones are even more wacked out. Yoga and Pilates are two excellent forms of stress management and also are useful in keeping our hormones and body under control. What is the difference between the two and which one is best for you?
Let's start by talking about Pilates. Pilates was created in early 20th century. The point of Pilates is to focus on developing the core body, or as heard in the Powerhouse Pilates. Years used Pilates for dancers to get lean and sculpted bodies they needed. Benefits of Pilates including severe abdominal and back muscles strong.
Now, in Yoga. Yoga has been for centuries and has proved a powerful tool to reduce stress and lower blood pressure. Yoga postures also are designed to tone and exercise the muscles in your body that will help remove any excess fat. There are also breathing techniques and meditation included.
Both programs mind body yoga and Pilates are what are known as''. This means it requires its users to be mentally focused as they perform all the exercises. Both are slower than normal, and calisthenics using you to use your breath with movement. The biggest difference in Yoga and Pilates is structure. Yoga can be loosely structured, while Pilates is more than a strict routine and is done in sets and repetitions. Every Pilates movement should be done in order and very accurate. The Pilates technique is key. Yoga tends to be a little more free.
If you need order and want to follow things in a specific manner then Pilates may be a better choice for you displicne the way it should be. Most of the time people are considered a "type A" personality tend to lean more toward Pilates. People who are more soft may want to try yoga, it is not like structure. No matter what you choose, There are some things you need to search. First make sure that there is a qualified instructor. Yoga and Pilates require that their instructors have completed training in to understand the full depth and techniques. Instructors must have good knowledge of anatomy and human movement. There are many schools and training courses a teacher can get your certification, some may last a weekend, while others can last month. A good instructor but will generally be certified in one of the two. To ensure you find a good instructor you may want to get help from any Yoga Alliance, which offers a search database where you can find a qualified instructor, or check out the Pilates Method Alliance, which provides not only a database of qualified instructors, it also gives a list of questions to ask your instructor.
Whatever you decide to go, you wont be disappointed with the results that soon will see.
