I am seeking an electric bike for my granddaughter. Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to accomplish this? What size engine that I use? the battery can be recharged while in use? any information would be appreciated.
To answer your question, 24 to 36V is more realistic. 12V will be very slow e-bike (maybe that's what you want?) That this, this is a classic who-vs-buy proposition. Let me hazard a guess that you want this for Christmas, and it needs to work, right? I suggest buying. The reason is, the engines of e-bikes are much more robust than you might find in a hand tool, children's ride-on toy or a starter. A typical e Motorcycle is more law 500W or sustained, and so have the extra dough and cooling to handle it. A starter tool or simply not built for that tax rate and not in the short term. In addition, the kit comes with a speed control – and if done well the controller will also load regeneration.
