Ebay Online Auction Wholesale Product sourcing - Finding
products to sell on eBay.
One of the most common questions that people have when getting
started selling on eBay, is where they can get products to sell.
In this article I am going to provide you with some of the very
sources I have used to find products to sell on eBay.
First, before you go and buy anything to sell on eBay, you
need to start off with the proper knowledge. What is your current
feedback level? If you're new to ebay or have fewer than 10
feedbacks, you should start off by reading our Beginning eBay Selling article.
Also, if you don't already have ebay selling experience, you
should start off slowly by finding a few items around your home
or office that you no longer use or need and list those to ebay.
It is really important that you understand the selling process
before you spend your money on a large quantity of products.
The second most important thing to know before buying products
to sell on eBay is that you make your money on your buys. The
selling process only allows you to realize the profit. What I
mean by this is that you really need to make smart, informed,
buying decisions. This is done with good product research.
You need to know the price you can sell your product on ebay
for and how well the product will sell. Where do you get this
information? You can get this information from eBay. Ebay is a
great repository of data. The challenge is how to interpret this
data into information you can use. This is where our years of
experience come in. Using our experience we have developed tools
that help make quick sense of this data. Our auction seller's
Sell-It Price Finder tool will read the eBay data to give you information
that is useful to your wholesale buying decisions. We will give
you information like the average price for an item and the sales
success rate.
Now that you have the tools to conduct your product research,
you need to have sources of products. Below we will be listing
two sources that we have used to purchase wholesale products to
sell on eBay.
The first source is
Liquidation.com.
This is an auction based liquidation site where seller's list
liquidation product lots all starting at $100 with no reserve.
What can you find on Liquidation.com? Well, there is just too
much to list more than a few items here. You can find computer
parts, electronics, jewelry, watches, clothes, electric scooters,
books, and so much more. While not all lots are good for selling
on eBay, with some research you can find some good deals.
These liquidation lots can range from single items to a few
boxes or cases to a few pallets to whole truckloads of items.
Items can be new, refurbished, used, returns, or salvage
(possibly damaged). Just like on eBay, you need to read the
product description to see what you're buying. Check out the
manifest, if included, to see what is listed there. Look at the
listed condition of the items. If the condition is listed as
returns or salvage, you will most likely receive some damaged or
broken items. If you know how to repair the items, this can be a
moneymaker for you. Don't forget to check the item location and
use the shipping quote calculator to determine the cost of
getting the lot to you. You need to always include freight
charges in the overall price you are paying for the items. Due to
the nature of liquidations I have purchased many lots where the
freight has cost me more than the actual items. When the freight
and items costs were added together, the overall price was still
a good deal.
The second source is really a list of sources. It is a site
called The
Drop Ship Source Directory. I know, a lot of you are probably
thinking, "oh no, not drop shipping" or "not another stupid list
of companies that are no longer around or are just middlemen".
Well, if you have not looked into drop shipping, you should. Drop
shipping is a great way to offer products for sale without
actually having to buy any inventory upfront. And this is
definitely not one of those lists with only out of business
companies or just middlemen. This is a really good source of real
sources. The company behind this site puts together these sources
as their business. They research the companies ahead of time to
ensure that these are real companies offering drop shipping of
orders.
Whether you're familiar with drop shipping or not, you should
take a look at their site. They do a great job of explaining the
whole concept and process of drop shipping. You should also read
their free articles and their ebook, "Starting Your Internet
Business RIGHT!" It explains how to "start your own Internet
Business using the Drop Shipping business method, without falling
into the traps that are out there waiting for you
EVERYWHERE."
There is also a free preview of the site. You will be able to
enter the site and use the search tools to look up products by
brand or product type.
The thing to remember about selling on eBay is that it is not
a get rich quick scheme. Selling on eBay is a real way to build a
profitable business. All it takes is a little bit of work
including good research and time effort. If you just want to sell
a few items to make a little extra money, you can do it. If you
want to sell lots of items and make a living selling eBay, it can
be done too.
Using the sources I have provided here, you may not find any
products to sell today or even tomorrow, but if you put in the
effort to keep checking these sources, you will be able to find
good products that will sell on eBay.
Good buying to you!!!
